A Change Up
During lock down from Covid-19 in the UK we have not been able to brew and instead we have spent our time renovating and preparing the brewery. Dave put in loads of time and effort into the brew space, fitting new ceiling cladding, painting the floor and walls, fitting a new extractor, ventilation and removing the brew benches we had been using. Steve led the way replacing and updating the electrics with a new consumer being fitted and new dedicated brew circuits.
At the same time as this Si has been working on the designs for the logo and packaging, producing loads of can designs, badges for untapped maybe even some T-Shirt designs.
All this work has put us in a great place to commence brewing again which we have been chomping at the bit to do. As part of this new process we are looking to counter pressure fill our bottles. What this means practically is that the beer is transferred from the fermentor into kegs where it is chilled then carbonated with CO2. Once carbonated, we then fill the bottles under pressure, ensuring the beer is crisp and clear and has the perfect fizz. We are using the tapcooler to fill the bottles which we purchased from The Malt Miller. The first beer we are going to brew is a Brut IPA, which is a new style for us, which has a light body and colour, low bitter and super effervescent, let see how that goes.
